The parliament of Greece passed an omnibus development bill that includes topics from online gambling to tourism developments, which the debt-laden country had to adopt before the EU/IMF team arrived for the audit later this month.
Greece has to meet fiscal targets and carry out structural reforms to be eligible for the rescue payments.
"The law had to be passed before the EU and IMF inspectors came to monitor Greece's progress," said Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos.
Greece promised its international creditors- the EU and the IMF- that this bill is just a part of a succession of reforms in exchange for their fresh aid. Government spokesman Elias Mossialos reaffirmed Greece's promise to push ahead with its reform agenda.
