© famrust

Greece PM George Papandreou has stated that a quick resolution is needed to counter the European debt crisis. According to him, the failure of Greece and other European nations to counter this debt was showing in the skepticism by the global financial markets.
This request for a resolution was made by the PM to the European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, and Greece lawmakers to quickly develop on the policies made at the European Summit on July 21 to counter this crisis. In that summit it was decided to give a $153.6 billion package to Greece to assist its economy and other measures were agreed upon to prevent the Greece debt crisis from spreading to other European nations.
The PM urged the Greece lawmakers to put into place the policies so that the process of assistance could begin. The policies have been delayed since they are yet to be approved by national legislatures and this delay is prompting questions about the ability of Europe to respond quickly to the crisis.
